What is the difference between L and M class dust extractors?

The 'M' Class dust extractor has an audible flow alarm (beeper) to alert you that the air flow has reduced below the threshold to safely remove dangerous dust and to immediately remedy the cause of reduced flow.

M Class extractors are required to have a filter rated at 99.9% efficiency of dust at 0.3micron size.

L Class machines are required to have a filter rated at 99.0% efficient with dust at 0.3 micron size.  (H Class require a filter rated at 99.995 efficiency with dust of 0.3 micron size)
