The Backing Pad can be used with equipment from other manufacturers allowing use of Festool's Abrasives. For Hamach/Rupes: BR3/E/ST/E ST, TA151ST; for Orka: ROA1 D/E, DAA1 D/E; for Desoutter: Mod.575, Mod.576.
