MULTI-JETSREAM - A GAME CHANGER WHEN SANDING PAINT!
Festool's Multi-Jetstream is a patented, highly efficient dust extraction technology integrated into their sanding pads. Its primary goal is to achieve near-perfect dust removal, which leads to a cleaner work environment, a better sanding finish, and extended abrasive life.
How it Works
The technology is built into the design of the sanding pad itself, which is where the name "Jetstream" comes from. It functions by creating two distinct airflows, an intake and an exhaust, that actively work together.
Exhaust Airflow: The sanding pad has a series of channels and holes that act as exhaust ports. As the sander operates, the dust created from the sanding process is efficiently drawn into these channels.
Intake Airflow: Unlike conventional pads that just pull air, the Multi-Jetstream pad has a separate set of channels that actively suck in air from the surrounding environment. This creates a high-pressure jet of air that "pushes" the sanding dust towards the exhaust ports.
The unique interaction between these two airflows creates a high-speed circulation system. This active dust-conveying process ensures that dust is not just passively collected but is forcefully swept from the entire surface of the pad, even up to the edges. This prevents the abrasive from clogging, maintains a high material removal rate, and significantly improves the quality of the final surface.
Festool Sanders that Use Multi-Jetstream
The Multi-Jetstream technology is a hallmark of many of Festool's professional-grade random orbital sanders. It is featured on their newer models and is often noted with "MJ" or "MJ2" in the product specifications.
Here are some of the popular Festool sander models that utilize this technology:
ETSC2 150mm: The Cordless Festool sander with LED light and 150mm sanding pad.
ETS 150 3mm and ETS 150/5: These are corded random orbital sanders with 150 mm (6-inch) pads, used for fine and intermediate sanding, respectively.
ETS EC 150 3mm and ETS EC 150/5: The brushless motor versions of the ETS 150 series, offering high power and a longer service life.
RO 90 DX, RO 125, and RO 150: The ROTEX series of geared eccentric sanders, known for their ability to perform both aggressive material removal and fine finishing.
The Cordless ETSC, RTSC, and DTSC series: These compact, cordless sanders (with 125 mm, 80x133 mm, and 100x150 mm pads) also feature the Multi-Jetstream principle for maximum dust extraction and mobility.

Types of Multi-Jetstream Sanding Pads
Ultra-soft: Fine sanding of moulded parts, arches, radii. Do not use on edges. Soft: Universal for coarse and fine sanding, for flat and slightly convex surfaces. Hard: Coarse sanding on surfaces, sanding along edges.

THE FESTOOL ROTEXT - THE PERFECT COMPANION FOR REMOVING OLD PAINT AND SANDING DOORS
When reworking old doors, you need to make sure that you remove unsound old paint or coatings. Depending on the work order, the paint should be completely removed or the unsound paint parts should be removed.
Accessories tip: Sand off with the Rotex RO 150 combined with the Granat abrasive. This allows you to remove paint quickly and cleanly.
Coarse sanding Procedure
Fix Granat P80 or P100 abrasive grit on the Rotex sanding pad. Adjust the sanding motion of the Rotex to rotary motion (coarse sanding). Start at speed 3–4. You
can even increase the speed if there is no clogging on the abrasive paper. Remove the old paint. Hold the Rotex eccentric sander with both hands and guide it over the surface of the door.
Accessories tip: Use the ROTEX handle to more easily guide the machine on the surface.
Intermediate sanding Procedure
Affix P120 to P180 Granat sanding paper (depending on the coating) to the sanding pad. Switch the sanding motion on the Rotex to eccentric motion. Then finely sand the entire surface again with P120 to P180 grit until the desired surface quality is achieved. Following this, the sanded surface will be ready for the finish coat if fine sanding is not required.
Accessories tip: For water-based paints (VOC), you must make sure that you use the right grit, check the paint manufacturers recommendations.
Fine sanding Procedure
If fine sanding is required, continue sanding with P180 to P320 Granat sanding paper. Switch the sanding motion on the Rotex to the same setting as for intermediate sanding. For this process too, sand the surface again until the desired surface quality is achieved. Following this, the sanded surface will be ready for the finish coat.

SANDING WALLS AND CEILINGS WITH THE LHS PLANEX
Two versions of the Planex are currently run in Australia
PLANEX LHS-E 225
Entry level
The PLANEX LHS-E 225 is a long-reach sander for walls and ceilings, featuring a powerful EC-TEC brushless motor that provides a rotating sanding motion. Designed for convenience, the sander has a fixed length of 1.65 m and is easily transported in its dedicated carrying bag.
PLANEX LHS 2 225
Premium
The PLANEX LHS 2 225 is equipped with an EC-TEC brushless motor and an eccentric sanding motion, offering a modular length that can be extended to 1.2, 1.65, or 2.1 meters. Designed for precision and convenience, it features adjustable suction and an LED light ring for perfect surface control, all while being easily transported in a Systainer.
Preparation/set-up - PLANEX mobile dust extractor
When sanding walls, ceilings or drywall areas, make sure you have enough freedom of movement. If the working situation requires, cover the floors and please wear ear and/or eye protection while working. Connect the PLANEX to your mobile dust extractor. Ensure that the correct hose diameter is set on the mobile dust extractor (in this case, D36) and switch on the AC function. To connect the suction hose and plug it-cable, you can place the PLANEX on your extractor’s tool holder.
Accessories tip: Please do not use a SELFCLEAN filter bag, but the transparent ENS-CT 36 AC/5 disposal bag.
Procedure - Sanding walls & ceilings
Select the right abrasive for your required surface. Accessories tip: The softer the filler, the higher the abrasive grit you will need to select. You can choose between Granat, Granat Soft (Planex Easy Only) and Granat Net. Depending on whether you are sanding a wall or ceiling, set the extraction to the wall or ceiling symbol or set the required extraction level continuously using the adjuster on your sanding head.
If required by the working situation, switch the LED light on or off at the sanding head. (Only possible with the
PLANEX LHS 2 225)
Accessories tip: Use the PLANEX carrying harness for even greater convenience when carrying out overhead sanding work and reduce the strain on your arms and shoulders. Set the on/off switch on the mobile dust extractor to AUTO, AC to ON and the hose diameter to 36. When the PLANEX is switched on, the extractor will start automatically. Guide the PLANEX in up and down movements over the surface to be machined.
