Can I buy a 10mm collet for my OF 1400?

The 10mm collet is not available in Australia. Collets available for purchase in Australia include:

8mm

12.7mm (½ inch)

12mm

6.35mm (¼ inch)

Can I order a base plate for my OF 2000?

These base plates are discontinued and now unavailable.

Can I purchase the OF 2200 rods separately?

Yes, you can purchase the rods separately in a special accessory kit for the OF 2200 router. The kit includes rods, template guides, guide rail adapter, parallel fence, and base plates.

Can the 0 degree base plate be used on the old OFK 700?

Yes, you can use it on the old OFK 700 and also on the new MFK 700 trimmer. The part number is 491427.

Can the Parallel Rod from the OF 2200 be used in an OF 1400?

No, they are not compatible. The OF 2200 rods are thicker.

Does the new OF 2200 Chip Deflector fit on the OF 2000?

No, the chip deflector supplied with the new OF 2200 does not fit the older OF 2000 router.

Does the router OF 1400 take all collet sizes?

Yes, the OF 1400 takes all collets. It comes with ¼ inch and ½ inch collets as standard. Other sizes are available and must be purchased complete with locking nut due to the unique rubber ring design.

How can I join MFS routing template extension profiles?

Extension profiles can be joined with a special joiner (part number 493235, listed as a spare part and not available online) or with a guide rail connector (part number 577039).

How does the brake operate in my OF 1400 router?

The OF 1400 EBQ has an electronic brake that brings the spindle with tool to a standstill within approximately 2 seconds after switching off.

I have a PF 1200, do I need a V groove cutter for 90 degree cuts?

Yes, Festool offers the V-Groove cutter HW SW D18/A90 for this application.

Is the 494627 standard screw bushing included with the 2200 router?

Yes, this is the copy ring for the OF 2200 to fit screw-in bushings.

What size collets come with the OF 1400 Router?

The OF 1400 Router comes with ¼ inch and ½ inch collets.

When using Festool routers with screw-in copying rings from other manufacturers, what copying rings do I need?

Use the following copying rings:

OF 1400 – part number 493566

OF 2200 – part number 494627

Why does an OF 1010 Plunge Router not fit with an 8mm cutter?

The OF 1010 comes with a ¼ inch (6.35mm) collet. To use an 8mm cutter, you need to purchase an 8mm collet (part number 488755). The ¼ and ½ inch cutters are the most common in Australia.

How to use a Festool router with guide rails?

All Festool routers can be used with guide rails. Festool provides instructional videos demonstrating how to use routers with guide rails.

I have an MFS Multifunction System 700mm Routing Template. Can I use MFS 200 in place of the 700mm piece for smaller workpieces?

Yes, all MFS sizes can be linked together.

What is the minimum thickness for dovetail joins using the OF 1010 EBQ Router?

The minimum thickness for dovetail joins is 14mm when using the OF 1010 EBQ Router (part number 576921).

Why are there smoke and sparks coming from my new OF 1400?

A little smoke from a new motor is normal due to oil on the brushes from manufacturing. This will burn off during initial use and won’t damage the tool. Sparks may also occur when the brake engages, which is normal.

Would a 12.7mm copy ring fit a 12.7mm cutter of any router?

No. The cutter must be smaller than the copy ring collar to allow for clearance.

Can the VS 600 Dovetail Joining System be used with the OF 2200 router? If not, which router is recommended?

Festool recommends using the OF 1010 or OF 1400 routers with the VS 600 system. The OF 2200 is not suitable as it does not have compatible copying rings for the jig.

Can MFS-S Router profiles be joined together end to end (longitudinally)?

Yes, MFS-S profiles can be joined end to end using a longitudinal connector (part number 493235) or the standard guide rail connector (part number 482107). These connectors are suitable for MFS 400 and 700 templates.

Can you use another branded router on the APS 900/2 routing worktop template?

Yes, you can use any router with the APS 900 template, provided it uses a 14mm diameter cutter and a 30mm copying ring.
