Resin Woodworking

Resin woodworking is a rapidly growing trend that illustrates the evolution of the modern woodcraft industry.

While traditional woodworking styles are still immensely popular among crafters, these emerging trends using new materials and methods are promoting a more artistic and innovative niche in woodworking.

With the right tools and resources, you can turn a niche market into hugely popular mainstream products. One such rising talent is Perth-based, multi-talented carpenter Jacques from JP Woodworks. JP woodworks were presented with a challenging project to create a small coffee table for Festool Australia and pushing the tools that he required to make this beautiful piece of material.

Festool has single handedly changed the way we do joinery!

“It all started with selecting the right spotted gum timber” says JP, “We used a TSC-55 plunge saw to cut the timber to size and using CNC router to get the unique shape for the resin pour... Using the orbital sanders for sanding the table and also for oiling coupled with the dust extractor for clean working... Festool has single handedly changed the way we do joinery! Hard to think we ever worked without it” says JP.

"The rich finish and exquisite design of the coffee table speaks volumes of the project. The final product is a perfect example of woodworking & carpentry at its best."
