Kitchen cabinetry lives or dies on its joints. Traditional dowel jigs need careful set-up for every joint, and even with a good jig there's tolerance stack between marking, drilling, and assembly. The consumables: beech Domino tenons

The tenon is what makes the joint. Festool beech tenons are pressure-formed European beech with a fluted surface that maximises glue contact area, and they're dimensioned to micron-level tolerance against the matching cutter in the DF 500. Generic dowels are not interchangeable — the DOMINO's mortise geometry is specific to the beech tenon profile.

The Cross Stop Attachment handles repeatable spacing along the edge.
