A specialist carbide (HW) dovetail cutter with an 8mm shank, designed for cutting semi-covered dovetail joints in the Festool SZO 20 dovetail jig system. The dimensions — 20mm at the widest, 17mm at the narrowing point, 15mm cutting length — are sized specifically for the SZO 20 jig and the joint geometry it produces. Use this cutter with the SZO 20 jig for semi-covered (also called half-blind or stop) dovetail joints — the joint construction used in traditional drawer fronts where the dovetail shows on one face but is concealed from the other. This is the joint hidden inside almost every quality timber drawer in a furniture maker's workshop. A genuine Festool carbide cutter, manufactured to the exact specification the SZO 20 jig system is built around. Furniture makers, cabinetmakers and traditional joiners who own the SZO 20 use the genuine cutter because the cutter and the jig are engineered together — substitute cutters compromise the joint geometry and the joints don't fit cleanly.
