Special Requirements for 'H' Class Dust Extractors
H Class Extractors are designed to be used for the removal of hazardous dusts, it is reasonable to expect that all H Class units have been exposed to materials hazardous to health (such as asbestos).
Due to the risk to handlers the following process to return H Class Extractors for repair must be followed:
- The owner is requested to follow the instructions on the special H Class Decontamination and Transport Form
- The owner is requested to fill in required information on the decontamination and transport form and email to customercare@tooltechnic.com.au
- The decontamination and transport form must be accompanied by receipt of purchase
Prior to transport all extractors must be:
- Decontaminated and thoroughly washed down
- Dust bag has been removed and dust container decontaminated
- Main filter has been removed
- Extraction hose has been sealed within plastic bag and placed in dust container
- Extractor has been placed within the special H class containment bag (included in original packaging )
Please note H Class extractors cannot be returned through our Dealer Network, they must be returned to us using the process above.
H-Class Dust Extractor – Repair & Return Requirements
H-Class dust extractors are intended for the extraction of hazardous dusts and are therefore treated as potentially contaminated in accordance with applicable WHS legislation and AS/NZS standards.
Note: Did your extractor stop working after installing a new filter? Festool H-Class extractors only operate with a genuine Festool H-Class filter. This is a built-in safety lock to prevent use with M- or L-Class filters. Please check that your filter has two small magnets on its surface.
Return Conditions
- H-Class dust extractors must be returned directly by the customer, at the customer’s cost.
- Address: Euro Tooltechnic P/L, 21-27 Evolution Drive, Dandenong South, VIC 3175.
- Returns via dealers are not permitted.
Mandatory Decontamination & Documentation
Prior to dispatch, the customer must:
- Complete the H-class repair form link
- Email the completed form and proof of purchase (if tool is not registered for warranty) to: customercare@tooltechnic.com.au
Pre-Transport Requirements
The extractor must be:
- Fully decontaminated and motor section cleaned.
- Main filter removed (packed in a proper sealed bag).
- The motor section and filter must be packed tightly in two "Asbestos Class" thick plastic bags.
- Enclosed in the approved H-Class containment bag.
- You MUST follow our H-class return procedure (refer to H-Class Decontamination and Transport form).
Acceptance Conditions
Units that do not meet these requirements will not be accepted for repair and may be returned at the customer’s expense.
