Dust Extractors

Festool dust extraction systems capture dust at the tool, before it reaches the air you breathe. Which extractor you need depends on the material.

M Class (99.9%) covers most trade work: hardwood, MDF, plaster, concrete, brick and anything releasing respirable crystalline silica.

L Class (99%) is for general nuisance dust only, such as softwood sawdust and site clean-up.

H Class (99.995%) is required for asbestos, lead, mould and other carcinogens.

Searching for a Festool vacuum? This is the right page. Unlike a workshop vacuum, a dust extractor starts from your tool, cleans its own filter and holds suction as the bag fills. Prolonged exposure to fine dust causes silicosis and other lung disease, and dust class is how Australian workplaces manage that risk. Unsure which applies? Read the L, M and H class guide.
