Australian Packaging Covenant

Euro Tooltechnic Australia is a signatory of the Australian Packaging Covenant (APC) and our action plan has been submitted. Under the Covenant, signatories agree to work together and promote the principle of product stewardship for packaging.

The APC is a commitment by industry and governments to the sustainable design, use and recovery of packaging. It is Australia’s way of managing the impacts of packaging and offers a highly efficient and collaborative solution.

The objective of the Packaging Covenant is to minimise the overall environmental impacts of packaging by pursuing the following specific performance goals:

  • Design

Packaging optimised to achieve resource efficiency and reduced environmental impact without compromising product quality and safety.

  • Recycling

The efficient collection and recycling of packaging

  • Product Stewardship

A demonstrated commitment to product stewardship by organisations in the supply chain and other signatories.

The guidelines articulate the definition and principles of ‘sustainable packaging’ so that all parties in the packaging supply chain work toward the same vision. Sustainable packaging is fit-for-purpose, resource-efficient, made from low- impact materials, and reusable or recyclable at the end of its useful life.
